I'm Not Forrest. And I'm Aware That I Am Running.

AM: 4:00 :: 36.5M

Lots to think about on this run. My future for example. Plenty of time to hash things out. As far as the run, it went alright. This was making up for the short run on Monday. First three laps went pretty well. I felt strong and my fueling was going smoothly (no GI distress, etc). Lap 4 got progressivly harder (as it always does), but I trailed off precipitously the last 30 minutes. No worries though, the first long, long run of the year and the most important thing at this stage is what I like to call T.O.F.: Time On Feet. I was still running for 4 hours.

I Am An Idiot

AM: 54 min :: 9M

It hasn't been proven yet, but it certainly will be once I get my scores back. That is unless staring blankly at the screen for the first half of the analytical writing section of the GRE is helpful. In fact, in leiu of sending my scores, the Educational Testing Service just sent me this link. The run went well, so at least I have that to fall back on. Um, yeah.

Brain Drain

PM: 1:38:00 :: 15M

Another day of sleeping in. As long as I'm getting my run in I don't worry too much, but I do like to be on a regular schedule. One complicating factor: I need to study for the GRE. It is looming on Saturday. I've done a bit of studying already, but I still need to formulate my plan of attack for the writing section, review some of the questions used in the past, etc etc. I'm a little worried. Running 15 miles on the treadmill instead of studying didn't do anything to alleviate my doubts.

This girl could probably ace the GRE right now, but she better tone down her celebration for ETS.
Another person a lot smarter than me (I've done two side before. Is that good?).

Sleeping In Is Nice

PM: 60 min :: 9M

Most of the time I'm an early bird, but I have my days. I like getting my run in before work because it seems so rushed when I try to get out in the evening. But today I had no choice (well I suppose I could have taken the day off, but that provides more stress than I care to deal with). Anyway, another run on the treadmill.

Try, Try Again

AM: 61 min :: 9M
PM: 60 min :: 9+M

Suprising given yesterday's debacle. Its not the same as getting a 4 hr run in, but at least I was able to run reasonably comfortable. Did both runs on the treadmill. Why? Just because. Hopefully this augers well for the rest of the week.

Not A Good Start

AM: 60 min :: 9.0M

Asthma sucks. This was supposed to be a 4 hour run (4 loops of the Ford Parkway/Franklin Loop River Road). I knew right off the bat it was going to be a struggle. I had been exposed to my kryptonite, pet dander, over the weekend. I was feeling a little weezy before I even started. Then, of course, cold air exacerbates my symptoms, so...strike two. Halfway through the first loop I knew I wouldn't be doing 4 loops today. As I approached St Thomas it became readily apparant that I would be lucky to finish this loop. I ended up cutting off the Minnehaha Park section to head home early gasping for air by this point. My airway felt about a centimeter wide.

So....disappointing way to start the week and the year. Tomorrow's another day I guess.
