So, no surprise that I am in quite a bit of pain post-surgery. Its kind of scary because every step I take it feels like I'm going to tear my body in half. I was prescribed Vicodin, but it isn't doing much for me besides causing lightheadedness and nausea. The pain is supposed to "gradually subside" over the next few days, but that is little consolation now.
As far as how the surgery went, ask Katie. I was on the operating table talking to the anesthesiologist and then I was waking up in the recovery area. I guess it went alright. I'll meet with the surgeon again in about ten days for a post-op check-up. Here is hoping I'm repaired. Howard is going to see the Philly guy (Meyers) soon to get his fixed as well. Hopefully we'll be comparing scars at next year's World Cup.
On the plus side, I'm lying in bed, surrounded by food, dvds, books, etc, etc. I supposed to stretch today, but I don't see how that is going to be possible since every single movement hurts. I'll do my best I guess.

Get better soon! I enjoy your blog, and can't wait to read more about you running again. Make the best of recovery and recharge the batteries.
Speedy recovery wishes from Tucson, Patrick. Instead of worrying about stretching while you're in pain, how about just planting yourself and emptying the TIVO hard drive? You've earned some recovery time.
You survived the surgery...that's step one. Everything after that, I've heard, is gravy. Speedy recovery to you and a saint's patience to Katie as she tends to your every whim! haha
Take care.
Glad you are officially on the mend. Have fun with the multi-media frenzy you are about to undertake.
I hope your recovery goes well. Your recovery blog will be a valuable document for injured runners in the future.
PR-
best wishes man! you will be up in no time hitting the pool and whatever it takes to get back to the roads. I have a few questions for you regarding the blogger and using a MAC. I'll try to call you this weekend.

Thanks to all the well-wishers. Katie hasn't gotten too fed up with me yet. Mike, too bad I don't have tivo, but I do have a whole season of LOST to review before the start of the newest season. Also, there is that pesky mid-term that I have to take on Monday in my Tax class. Somehow that doesn't sound appealing.
