So I've been delinquent in regards to posting lately, but I'm back on track now. Running through the holidays was alright, but really for the last month of 2008 I floundered quite at bit. It wasn't necessarily a lack of motivation, but perhaps direction? So when the calendar turned over to 2009 I got serious about laying out some goals for the coming year and that has done the trick so far. Just being consistent (6-7 days per week) for that short of time has helped.

Of course there is a ways to go. Right now I'm working in the 7:30 - 8:00/mile pace for most runs on the treadmill, but at least I'm feeling better doing it. Small steps.

As far as goals for the year, I think its going to be a marathon year, but don't hold me to it. I lower key May marathon run off base mileage and a few workouts, a full build-up October marathon, and then a November ultra (JFK?).

All that sounds great, but I really would settle for a healthy, consistent year of training.

Oh and we're at 150" of snow in Houghton so far this season. Welcome to the UP!

indeed quarterly updates like my financial quarterlies! Really glad to hear all is well Patrick. I figured the snow was pretty deep up there. It has been bitingly cold at a consistent rate down here. Lots of treadmill running, but i don't mind it and it is good quality. Looks like you have a good mindset for this year and schedule.
